I love this simple Fulani-inspired braid hairstyle for kids, and it works just as well for adults.
The single part down the middle, diagonal parts on the sides, and beading are inspired by the Fulani, who primarily hail from West Africa.
This style works as a simple protective style for school or special occasion style. Swap out various beads or other accessories depending on your plans!
As always, be gentle around the delicate hairline area. Leave fine hairs at the front and back hairline loose rather than trying to snatch every strand, and braid with minimal tension to avoid hair loss. Your little girl will thank you later.
Most of all, adapt the style to your child’s hair and personality, be creative and have fun.
