A representative from Nylah’s Naturals recently reached out to to me and I was excited to try a few products from the line.

Nylah’s Naturals Super Seed Oil

The first Nylah’s Naturals product I tried was their Super Seed Oil. If you’ve been following me for a while, you know I’m the Oil Queen. I love oils and use them regularly for my hair and skin.

The Nylah Naturals Super Seed Oil is a blend of some of my favorite oils, as well as some I hadn’t tried before. I like that it has a mix of penetrating and sealing oils, which means you get both in one step!

The oil has a very light citrus scent that’s pleasant without being too strong or overpowering.

Here’s the full ingredients list: Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil Macadamia Integrifolia (Macadamia) Oil, Argania Spinsosa (Argan) Oil, Cannabis Sativa (Hemp) Seed Oil, Moringa Oleifera Seed Oil, Passiflora Incarnata (Passionfruit) Seed Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Tocopherol (Vitimin E), Crambe Abyssinica Seed Oil, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Peel Oil, Limonene, Linalool, Citral.

After using this oil blend for a few months, it’s become a new favorite. I enjoy using this oil after washing my hair. I also use it when refreshing my hair throughout the week by spritzing with water, applying the oil, and styling.

It leaves my hair looking moisturized and feeling soft. This oil also provides good slip and helps to detangle my hair when styling, as well as when rinsing prior to cleansing. It’s a light oil, which makes it spread and penetrate easily, and it doesn’t cause excess build up.

Nylah’s Naturals Super Botanicals Restorative Conditioner

I’ve also been experimenting with the Super Botanicals Restorative Conditioner. This conditioner works well on both my Type 4 kinky coily hair and my daughters Type 3 curly hair.

Since my daughter and I have two completely different hair types, it’s been a challenge to find products that work well for both of us.

This Super Botanicals conditioner fits the bill. It works very well as a co-wash or rinse out conditioner for both me and my daughter. It softens the hair well, has excellent slip, and makes detangling easy. I’ve even been able to teach my 6 year old how to cowash and detangle her own hair using this conditioner.

The conditioner is also hydrating, reinforces the curl pattern, and smooths the hair shaft.

The consistency is creamy – not super thick but not liquidy. As I smooth it into my hair it doesn’t clump at all. It spreads and coats the hair easily, and rinses out well.

The Super Botanicals conditioner comes in a pump bottle which is so convenient when washing my hair in the shower. I like not having to dip wet hands into a jar or worry about water from the showerhead getting into the product.

In terms of ingredients, this conditioner is water based, with fatty alcohols, glycerin, shea butter, and behentrimonium methosulfate as the main ingredients. Despite the name, behentrimonium methosulfate isn’t actually a sulfate, and is used for its moisturizing and detangling properties.

Here are the ingredients: Aqua (Water), Cetearyl alcohol, Glycerin, Butyrospermum parkii (Shea) butter, Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Hydrolyzed Pea Protein, Simmondsia chinensis (Jojoba) seed oil, Crambe Abyssinica Seed Oil, Oleyl erucate, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Glyceryl caprylate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Parfum (blended essential oils), Citric acid, Geraniol and Limonene (essential oils)

Nylah Flourish Hair Bolster Serum

The last product I’m currently testing from this line is the Nylah Flourish Hair Bolster Serum.

I’ll do a separate review going more into depth on this product after I’ve given it enough time for a full assessment, but I can say it looks to be created with the same thoughtfulness and quality of the other Nylah’s Naturals products I’ve tested.

The Final Rinse

Overall, I’m so glad to have tried Nylah’s Naturals. I’ve used dozens of products in my natural hair journey over the years, and this line is something special.

I love the company values, the African-inspired and well thought out packaging, the ingredients, and of course that the products do what they say they’ll do!

If you’re looking for good quality natural hair care products that improve hydration, softness, and help with detangling,  Nylah’s Naturals is a must try.
